Last night I uploaded some mp3s to my Instinct and they played through the speakerphone just great.  Fast forward to today when I am at my office with headphones.  I went to play a song and nothing would come out of the headphones, but the speaker was still blaring music.  How can I get music to come out of my headphones?!

Nah but seriously did you check the volume. Just kidding again. I'm sorry.
Well I don't really know the problem. Do the headphones work with other applications (Games, Texting, Etc.) Huh?

Snap. The silicon skin was keeping the jack from being pressed in all the way.  Thanks for the brain check.

This is one of the main problems I have with the INSTINT pos  phone. The 2.5 mm jack is not the same as all head sets,if you will notice there are four conection point on the jack that comes with the phone. IE one for nutral one for left bank one for right bank then they added another for the stupid mic that is included in the head set that comes with these phones. the best thing I have been sble to figure out is to make a jumper that deleets the mic wire.If I am listening to music I aint going to answer my phone anyway. This way you can plug into a fm modulator or any other device and play your music through them to get decent volume also. I am so fed up with this phone that I am going to ATT just to get an I PHONE. I like Sprint but they had a chance to get the IPHONE when it opens up but didn't they let Verison have it so I will be going to a carrier that has a good phone.

on this site using the search button you would find a solution to 90% of your issues... there is the volume hack which increases volume... plus you can buy an adapter that will convert any jack to 3.5

Do I have a different phone to everyone else?   my phone takes standard headphones, no adapter no jumpers no alterations... and works great (not very loud,  but great)

It was the reference to using a adapter and the reference to a 2.5 further up that got me wondering.......my post was half sarcasm.
