Only a single master volume control rant

I didn't know where else to post this and since volume is involved in listening to music, i thought I'd start here.

I really hate how there is only ONE volume control, as far as I know! I would like to be able to set my alarm on my phone to wake me up in the morning without me getting woken up in the middle of the night by email spam alerts. Yes, i know i can turn the email notification off, but i really don't feel like doing that every night. And, i would like my actual ringer to be louder than, say, my text message alert or voicemail alert. My old SPH M300 was capable of this, and that was a rather sub-par phone. Anyway, this REALLY bugs the crap out of me. Maybe I'm the only one....?
