All of a sudden the music player on my Instinct stopped working. I never really used it much, but I recently got a stereo bluetooth headset (Samsung SBH600 - it's kickass), so now I have a use for it.

I tried reformatting my memory card - to no avail. I've double/triple checked the folder arrangements, and have tried adding music through both the sprint media manager and explorer. Nothing works.

Interestingly enough, when swapping the memory card with my Dad's Instinct S30 the music loads perfectly fine.

So it's something wrong with my phone...?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes doing a soft reset helps ( taking the battery out for 30 seconds )

That didn't help. I ended up doing the full reset - the one through settings on the phone.

It REALLY sucks how much stuff I lost doing that, but at least the music works now..

Stereo Bluetooth is kickass! No more volume issues whatsoever.

I had this same problem. I didn't want to full reset. I found this article: http://www.everythinginstinct.com/forum/general-discussion/instinct-bug-list-faq-379.html

so yeah: #Problem:
I can't get the updated version of application X.
@Solution:
Most of the updates are basically distributed "randomly" to batches of customers at a time. Some app updates can be forced manually by visiting a URL in the Web browser:
Pocket Express http://www.handmark.com/downloads/24...ng-M800-EX.jad
Music Store http://musicstoreupgrades.sprintpcs....23/JukeBox.jad
The Email app has a "Check for Upgrade" option if you go to the main page (that lists all of the email accounts) and click on the gears icon in the top-right.


All I did to fix my music player, was go onto my browser on my instinct, and type this in:

http://musicstoreupgrades.sprintpcs.com/installs/j2me/131623/JukeBox.jad

I hope this helps fix anyone elses problem. Hard reset aborted. Whew!

Yea, This fixed my problem!  Sprint advanced tech support wanted me to do a hard reset and I told them I would live without it until I get a new phone!

well what exactly was the problem? I mean, were you getting some error msg? or was it closing or not reading or what?

The music player would start to open and then just go back to the main screen.  It was caused by an invalid update that was sent out.

ok i dont know, but every time i have problems with the music player is because of a song, i dont know why for some reason when a song does not work the music player crashes... now im having trouble with the song from COLDPLAY - vida la vida i can not make the damn song play, so sad cuz i love it :O i've tried a lot of versions of it and it wont play, any suggestions? thank you.

My phone is acting all weird, two days ago I added in some additional songs to the ones I already had on my phone. Yesterday morning, I went to the music player, and all my songs are gone, but they're still on the memory card...what's wrong with my phone? Sad
