Ok so here's my problem. See if anyone can help me.
I load music through Sprint Media Manager to the phone.
They aren't hard files to manage.
They're all named correctly.
They're simple mp3 files.
2GB memory chip.
I turn on the Music Player on my device.
The little screen thingy pops up and says,
"Scanning Card." "Updating Music Folder." or w/e that little loading thing says.
Then where it says, "Artist, Album, Songs," and all that, it says
(0) in parenthesis. In other words, NO MUSIC! Can anyone help me? thanx!  Cry

ok...have u ever had music on this card before? BEFORE plugging in the Card and USB did u first put the card into the phone to let it create all the folders? If not... you have to do that

screw the Sprint Media Manager....uninstall that... make sure the USB driver is installed...make sure ur memory card is in the phone.... plus the usb thingy in...find the device in the My Computer section...find the music folder and put the songs into there!! Need anymore help ill be back

ok well I managed to fix the whole problem. I just reset the phone manually and did a wireless backup for my contacts, my photos were still there. =) Now I have a new problem though. When I plug my phone in my comp, locate the music folder in it, there's a new one that just says "music" which is where the music that's working is going. I renamed the old music folder "MUSIC 1" and here's where the problem lies.... I can't manage to delete a couple music folders in that one. The language or writing rather is like this weird code. When I hit delete it says, "cannot read from source." or something like that. It's pissin me off. lol Other than that the phone works fine.

The base folders on the card need to be specific.  "Music" is the only place the instinct will play music from.  You can create new folders inside the "music" folder, but if you rename the main folder, it won't work.

If you can't delete it, save everything on the card to your computer, reformat the card, and start all over.

Yes I would reformat the card which deletes everything and start from scratch.

Remember dont rename any of the folders... Those are the base folders the phone uses so it knows where to find stuff...its kinda like switching the "Boys" Sign and "Girls" sign on the doors of the bathroom and expecting people to know the difference....I mean..its not like the door is painted pink along with the girls sign.... (even tho in some childrens hospitals and such they are)

haha, well, It's playing music which is the important part. The folder I can't delete is like invisible. So I don't really care. It's not hurting anybody and it's not taking up any space. All is well Master Jedi. Thanks guys.

Ooooh I think i know...maybe whats going on...You said the folder is invisible...is it like greyed out when your looking at it in Windows? If so...you cant delete it because its a "hidden" folder....so you need to right click the folder...then left click properties...then uncheck the box that says "hidden" then click ok then try deleting it again... I came across this issue where i couldn't delete a folder from my PSP memory stick once either from the PSP or Windows...untill i undid the "hidden" box!! So if this is the case for you try it and let me know if not let me know!
