I had 200 songs on my 2gb Mini SD that came with the phone, I put it on independently without Sprint Media Manager, it worked fine for about 2 weeks, then the every now and then it would pop up and say it couldn't play a certain song, it didn't bother me because it actually still could.. It started to happen more frequently and then one day I couldn't play my music at all.  Right after that happened it popped up with some bigger error message and then took me back to the Main page, and all of my music was gone.  I went into the SD card using the adapter that came with it, and sure enough, there was no music.. Now for the really confusing part, even after I deleted it I still have 1 gb of space taken up on the 2 gb card. I actually just deleted every single thing on the card so there were no folders or files or anything, and it still had like 938mb's taken up, I took all my pictures and video and stuff like that off...

Anybody else had this problem, better yet, know a way to fix it, or just erase everything on the card?

Showing half your memory used up tells me maybe your adapter is locked...so you think you may have erased your songs, but if you hit refresh, it will all show up again...check that first...Vista is funny like that...assuming that's what your using...XP usually gives you some silly warning if your adapter is locked and you try to erase or even add music...

You could try to format the card, but make sure your adapter isn't in the lock position...put it back in the phone...now if the phone ask you to format, select ok or yes...I'm not sure if the Instinct ask though, never had to format my sd...

I say put it back in the phone after formatting because when you go to music again, hopefully, it will create the folders you need...If not, just make the folders yourself...MUSIC, MEDIA, DCIM, file store, OTHERS, RECORD, and emailcache....
Hopefully it was just a glitch...it could be the sd card assuming it happens again...
Anyways, hope this helps...

Agree with psycho 100%,  I will also add that I formatted the Micro SD card once already and it created the folders for me again so you shouldn't have to ass them in manually.  But the same exact thing happened to me that you're talking about and formatting the card fixed all of my Micro SD and music issues.

So, I've been around for a little while and had an almost flawless phone..., until last Friday.  I was using my mp3 player and listening like always.  I've got about 55-60 songs on mine.  I got two messages saying that songs were missing and then ***POOF***.  All of my music was gonners.  I couldn't believe it.

I did remember over the last year or more of having talks about this type of problem with other users around the forum but couldn't remember the solution attempts right off.  So, I used the BTFile Manager to see if the songs were there..., nothing.  Then I took it to the PC, hooked it up, and still an empty music folder.  I was going to copy all of my folders over to the machine and reformat the SD but I ran out of time before going to work so I left it that way.

Then, I remembered something...  Music Player>My Music>Options>Web Sync!  I though "I'm sure that this will at least help bring back some of the songs that I've purchased from Sprint" so it did it.  The phone polled the Sprint music server and pulled up a list of the songs that I'd purchased and didn't have on the phone, about 10 or so.  Then, it gave me the option to "Download all"...  What, It will save all of the songs that I bought, COOL!  Smiley

Ten minutes later and the last song from Sprint redownloaded and ***POOF***.....  WTF?

ALL of my music was back!  Is it possible that the Sprint server had backed up and stored all 55-60 of my songs?  Was the music player having a panic attack and the Sprint server delivered a much needed dose of Xanax?

I don't know.  What I do know is that My Instinct, and Sprint, continue to amaze me and make me a happy customer!
