Having trouble listening to music

I am having trouble getting my songs to work.  I rip the CD with windows media player, then go to the start button, click documents, click music folder, drag the songs onto the folder that is on the phone and then they store on the music folder on the phone.

But when i go to music on my phone and try to play them, it never starts to play and it just goes through all my songs one at a time pretty quickly and never play.  Its pissing me off because I can't figure this out.  Do you have to use a special software or something.

Any help will be greatly appreciated
