I can't see either of them undercutting the other in price - that wouldn't make for a healthy relationship.  I haven't followed BB vs Sprint pricing closely, but my impression was they were usually the same, but with BB giving you any rebate instantly rather than the Sprint mail-in.

MIBs are so stupid.  Whats the point, this where sprint should follow BBs lead.

They do that because they expect like 18% of customers NOT to actually mail those rebates in.  That's a LOT of money when you factor the number of new phones that are purchased.

I have to say I am now truly reconsidering the HD. I am not sure I am ready to spend $249 on another Instinct. Though I am happy with the original I still believe the HD is what the original should have been plus the HD out and 5mp camera. To up the price on that doesn't seem like a value to me now. I will still get  some hands on with it but I think I will be waiting to Oct. 11th to mess with the Hero as well and hopfully more news about the Q will break soon as I still like the info leaked so far.

I posted this in another topic but thought I would put it here too. I talked to a guy at Sprint who has a secretary yesterday (this means he is important..heee) and he said that Best Buy buys the phone directly from Sprint and then they sell the phones for whatever price they want. This make sense and because Best Buy is about total sales and not phone sales, they can sell them for cheaper to reach the intended bottom line. Of course, I did say to the guy, so you are encouraging your existing customers to get their phones from Best Buy as long as you keep the MIR in place. He assured me that I have better MIR assurances when I go through Sprint....LOL...whatever that means.

someone in one of the threads (or one of the articles) said something about not seeing a HDMI Video out port...

see attached Wink  picture if from BB website, click on "more images" they have angle left, angle right, back, front.

and although it may not be definite HDMI, its a video out definitely.  question though, what happened to the "speech to action" button?  I use it very often while driving and its something I've had on all my samsung phones

EDIT:  nvm I found it, its moved to the left side under the volume buttons.

Also posted this under reviews but thought it looked promising so will add here. I noticed on the Web Tab it listed ESPN as well. Perhaps this Titan deal may truly be a benefit that we can look forward too.  I also see the retained live search which is a very good thing. Anyone else have any other reviews or info. I don't see the SD slot on the outside but the rant and others have it inside the battery cover so I assume it is there somewhere since it is expandable memory support.

http://www.calebnance.com/blogs/girths-blog/918-girths-blog/117-girth.html

Specs:

- 3.2" Touchscreen

- Micro SD Slot (Comes with 4 gb in the box)

- HTML Web Browsing with Opera

- 5.0 Mp Camera with Flash

- Ability to play and record HD video

- Resolution: 320 X 480

- Mp3 Playback

- EV-DO Rev A Support

- Wi-Fi Support

Quick Look:

Making it's way to Sprint's Instinct family comes the new Instinct HD. At first look there really doesn't seem to be much difference in the new comer, but a closer look will prove to be different. They have added some nice and yet suttle changes this time around. One change is that when scrolling in the options menu there is a little scroll bar showing you where you are. They have also added applications built in on the "Fun" page like: Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and Myspace. The Instinct HD is also going to launch with Opera 9.5 has the web browser of choice, which is not a bad choice at all. The Instinct HD is going to launch at Best Buy Mobile starting September 25 with a $199 instant savings price tag.

Design:

There have been pictures of this phone going around that make it look like a huge, fat, bulky phone. After holding it, I can say those pictures should be taken off right now. The phone itself is not heavy or big by any means. It is actually the same length as the Instinct s30, but just a tiny bit wider. The buttons are still flush on the front of the phone just like the two Instincts before it. There is one thing about the body of this phone that makes it stand out from its family members, and that is it's HDMI output.

Features:

That's right this phone supports an HDMI output to a Hi-Def Tv, hence the name Instinct HD. That is not the only reason for it's name as it has a 5 Mp camera with LED flash, and auto focus. This phone has the abilty to play and record videos in 480p HD, but play in 720p on the TV. This phone is going to change the way you record from your phone. There are some other things that are going to make this phone worth the price tag that is going to be on it. Some newer features are Wi-Fi support along with Visual Voicemail. These two things alone should make you want this phone for your own. One of the things I wish was better on this phone is the touch screen calibration. If anyone has had an Instinct in the past you know what I'm talking about, and if not, it means they could of made the touch screen better. All in all this is a great phone that is definately ahead of the curve for other phones, and I would recommend it.

Yeah, and definitely don't forget the Wi-Fi.  In my area, the data signal is horrible and I would love being able to flip over to the wireless router in my house with the 6mb download speeds!   Cool

The SD card slot is indeed behind the battery cover.
