As it turns out, Instinct HD really was the final name that Samsung decided for its Sprint-bound S50 / m850 Dash, at least as far as Best Buy is concerned. The "Weekly Ad Specials" listing confirms that the smartphone really does handle HD video, both recording and playback, with a 5 megapixel camera and a TV out connection for sharing. It's also got visual voicemail, WiFi, and corporate calendar (likely Exchange and Lotus Domino) support. No price listed, but whatever it is will be effective from today through September 26th, so using our great powers of logic and deduction, we're gonna predict it'll hit stores sometime within the next month -- bold assumption, we know. Don't let us down, Sammy.

as long as there is no app store, resistive touch screen still and just pretty much the same phone with a couple added things it will still be a weak phone. The UI and OS needs to be improve.

glass capacitive touchscreen.  and although YOU don't like the UI/OS, many do.  is it an iPhone, nope...does it do everything the normal person needs, YES.  "a couple of added things", no its a major upgrade and in only a year's time.  what did apple spit out a year after the iPhone released?  a plastic look a like with              gps capabilities.  1 year and all they added was gps and can handle 3g speeds.  samsung on the other hand, 1 year and they have completely revamped the phone.

seriously, why are there so many doggers on the instinct website.  the phone isn't the best in the world, but most everyone here paid ~$100 some $75 some less, go get a comparable phone for the same price...you can't.  and atleast our phones don't just fall to pieces during use.

I agree with the price thing of what you just said. a Major Upgrade/Revamp? Heck no. They took the SAME UI rearranged where to find things, made most of the menus transparent, added slide to unlock, 3 more MPs in the cam, "HD" recording, and thats about it. The only "Revamping" of this phone is adding HD recording. a 5 MP camera is nothing. The added things to the UI is NOT revamping this phone. All it does is enhance our old one. AS much as the new look of the phone is its just going to be another repeat of our instinct. Updates taking forever to get to us. BUT who knows. IF you dont want apps and dont care about updates ASA there is a problem found then get that phone.

you just described a revamped phone...just one that lacks apps....
World1-1 listed a bunch of things this phone can do in another thread, this is a definate upgrade of our origional....big deal's and pssst-whatever's aren't going to take away the fact that most...Most of what we want this phone to do now will be answered on the next phone....probably not apps, guess we'll see, this was never a big selling point to me, but rather a disappointment I can live with.
I'll be first in line, lol....again....
Now i'll need a bigger sd....always something...

You know, considering the UI pretty similar to the current Instincts, do you think some of the new features (like corporate calender support) will be included in the next update for our phones?

I see a "My Stuff" icon on the Main menu. I wonder if this phone will be more customiziable than the original or if they have just moved the Games/Apps icon from the Fun menu.  My interest is piqued for this one:)

Lovinlissa.....Thanks. If this is the case, my excitement is immensely reduced. Currently, our downloaded content is stored in Fun, Games/Apps so they have potentially just moved it and to this I say "so what".  That having been said, I'll just wait and see what others say about the HD when it is released. Currently, I am still happy with the Instinct but I am a sucker for new technology:)
