Okay, I still have the original Instinct, I used to have the 12 month upgrade, but now have the 22 month one due to switching to my wife's account, I lost my premium membership, so my full upgrade....

....will be in April, I really like the HD, but it will be like 6 mths old by then, so should I grab the HD or continue to hold out for the next big thing since my next upgrade won't be for 22 months?

Instinct HD

« Reply #2 on: February 09, 2010, 03:12:05 AM »

Tough call...
I know the new Instinct HD is an absolute improvement, but like the original, it needs fixes in the performance department. I believe this one is a easier puzzle to solve, but who knows, time will tell.
Android seems to be a hit with some, others are holding out for the new Supersonic winmo phone.
Guess it's whatever flavor your feeling when it's time to decide.
Me...this is it.  I just wanted a better Instinct, I like this brand, and the improvements/upgrades I wanted, I got...then some.

The only thing this phone has that others dont is the HD video. I was going to get an Android and went to BB to just test out the HD.  I was hooked on the quality of video and the ability to watch 720p movies from my phone on my TV. This year there is going to an explosion of Androids and some of them are going to have HD. Not sure if this is the last Instinct since it was pulled from BB in only 4 months.  My next phone is going to probably be an Android with HD and 4G.  Next year there coming out with 1080p chip. With the 4G you will be able to stream Netflix HD movies to your TV from your phone, also play internet games on your TV from your phone. The google cloud is is coming sooner then people think.

A big selling point to me is a flash player and being able to be on the internet while on a call, I would love to get the HD, but i've waited this long, I might as well wait for the next big thing.

Google "Motorola Motoroi"... launched a few days ago in Korea. Coming to US in March.
Just like Droid, but no sliding keyboard, records HD video, has HDMI out, Google Maps w/free GPS Voice, Voice Search like Instinct, etc... I think it's goin to TMobile, along HTC HD2, another badass phone. Lots coming around the corner. Supersonic, as mentioned, also looks wicked.

Just HD recording?...yeah, that's one..........
