I dont think that hes lazy...he just wants to be flashy..and the most flashy way of just tapping to get google is android...well...its a tap, wait, drag to the left, click, type your search, click again (on search), wait again. THEN enjoy...definately not the logical way of an easy tap of google.

Someone should time how long it takes to get to google search from OM, Android, default browser...etc.

I'd be interested to see the results. My money's on Opera Mini.

mbrulla, just did a quick test and the Instinct browser ended up being the fastest.  Opera was close behind, but it's just a second or two quicker to get to google on the default browser, especially since it's my home page.  Opera loses because of it having a load time.

And I must say, since day one, I've never really had many issues with the built-in browser, the thing is fast and accurate for me.

opera is still the fastest for almost everything else. the only two things i wish would work is making opera mini default browsing and downloading.....then the character limit...

Maybe it's just my browsing habits on the phone, but I really dont see a huge difference between load times of pages on OM vs. Instinct browser.  OM definitely renders pages on certain sites better, and some sites that flat don't work on the Instinct browser do work on OM.  But as far as overall speed goes, sometimes OM is faster, sometimes Instinct is faster.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who will argue this with me, maybe I'm lucky enough to have a stable running built-in browser, maybe I just dont go to some of the sites other people frequent that happen to work better on OM.  I'm not sure what it is.

All I can say is the only reason I even installed OM in the first place was to see what all the hype was about, and to say I have several options.  I still use built-in browswer 95% of the time.  Heck, I'm even using that browser to remote desktop into my pc at home using RemotelyAnywhere, and it runs smooth.  I have full control over mouse movement and everything.

I know we are way off topic for this thread, so I'll leave it at that.

How could that be?  It's the same browser either way.

My guess is that this person is going to the browser, wait the 5 sec to load the home page, then go to google. vs using the google search in the android app which takes you straight to the google results page... I still prefer to use this the way I said in the the first posts...

It works great, so obviously it has enough "power"

Just today I remoted in, pulled up my torrent client, verified a torrent I was waiting on finished downloading, and disconnected, all within 5 minutes.
