I picked a date which in this case was Aug. 1st

Entered the Description

Entered the End Date

Entered the Start Time an hour earlier than the End Time

Picked Weekly

Picked a Reminder for 10 mins. before
and saved, but it did not show up each week.

Honestly does it take that long or people power to fix a calendar java program? I guessing the programmers at Sprint brought the software from someone and did not pay attention to the Repeat feature being faulty and now has no solutions to replace it because the person probably got paid and took off!

Otherwise, it would have been fixed by now! Now they are pretending to ignore the problem in hopes people will forget about the one issue that is still on people's mind you punk ass Sprint!!!  Angry

You can repeat calendar alerts Once, Everyday, Every week, Every Month, or Set Days (mon-sun)
You can set what time for the alarm to start and end
You can set it to alarm On time, 10 min before, 30 min before 1 hour before, or no alarm...
Also some " call reminder " which brings up your contacts...haven't tried that.

I don't use it much, but when I do, It works....some people have issues with the calendar alerts, but I haven't experienced any problems yet.

I don't think so.  For example, the present Instinct calendar is not able to set a monthly recurring event that happens on the 2nd Monday every month.  It cannot do it.

Another disappointment about the Instincts calendar is you cannot input events on days that have already past. Sad

What about putting in dates for say birthdays and you want it to repeat next year.  How do we do that or can we?

Am I the last person to schedule anything every other week. I would love my Instinct HD if it was not for the calender sucking. Can't do every other week or put in notes in calender. And what's up with the era message when I put in an address for a contact. I put it in the way it instructs then gives me an ara that format is wrong. Will they, can they fix it?

Only one thing about calendar that annoys me is the alert.
I do shift work and as such put in the whole year's shifts, like day for 2 weeks and then evening for 2 weeks. Set start and end date, set for "no alert" but every day on the start time (which i actually do not need, but you have to set a time) the alert goes off. I checked all 2 week blocks, day by day and all are set to "no alert". Can not get it off. Ideas??

The design of this feature is clearly a big "oops" on the part of the Samsung designers.  When using a calendar, the start time and the end time are always supposed to specify the start and end of an event happening on that date.  On the Instinct, the end time is a completely useless setting that is only used for the repeat feature.  It is so unintuitive that apparently only a few tech support people at Samsung and none at Sprint know how to use it.

I'd love to see some kind of feature where you can set something more akin to an alarm on the calendar so you can basically use it as a reminder, but considering that you arent' even given 33 characters to describe an event's name, purpose, and location hoping to see any kind of helpful feature is pointless.  Even the HD version of this phone fails to support this basic feature.
