To use the Repeat feature since the New update .

1st > Enter Event or Edit and excisting one.

2nd > your start date will be what ever day you want it to Start on ( lets say Fri Aug 1st)

3rd  > your stop date will be the Date you want your Repeats to stop ( Lets say every fri in Aug so Aug 29th )

4th > set your repeat ( lets say every week)

5th set your times and so forth and Alerts as you want them

and Save  This will put that event on the 1st, 8th ,15th,22nd,29th .

So your end date has to be set on the Event for when you want the repeat to stop.

And what about if the event only happens on the 2nd Thursday of every month?  Have you or anyone else figured out a way to do that?  I have some regular business meetings that only happen on a given week day every month, e.g., every 2nd Thursday, every 3rd Monday.  I cannot figure out a way to do that.  I tried doing every month, but that puts the event on the same calendar day, e.g., 14th of August, Sept., etc.  Any ideas?

ah, thanks for that. its all been kinda counter intuitive.  step 3 is what's throwing me off.  you'd think end time is when the reminder stops notifying you of that specific event after it starts notifying you (not accounting for the span of the repeats)

Good question i would think even if you select every Mon or whatever it would just put it in every Monday that month not just the 2nd .

i will work on it .

I hope you can find a way.  I've worn out my brain cells trying every possible way.  Right now, the calendar in the Instinct continues to be the biggest disappointment for me.

I got nothing I even tried to do all Mondays and then delete the ones you wouldn't need but it just deletes it all.

On a positive Note I read that Seven is working on an App for Calender,Notes and Task . They are the ones that do the E-mail and it seems to working somewhat.

Thanks for your reassurance in trying, too.

As for this other application, I hope it comes to happen.  I read the note about it.  I don't want to sound discouraged, but it'd be a lot better if the news could be substantiated on the company's web site or from other official.  It's not that I distrust the person who posted the message.  I've been burned before when a customer rep says something nice simply to make us a satisfied customer.  What I'm trying to say is that I'm being very cautious keeping my hopes high for a good calendar app.  I'm giving this time...

Thanks so much ImNoPrince!! This was one thing that I really wanted to get "fixed" on my phone via a future update to the software. Seems it was that darn End Date that was messing with me all along.  I was used to being able to select "No End Date" on my previous phone for repeating events if I wanted it to keep repeating forever until I deleted the event.  So I was kinda lost.
Now, all I had to do was make a far off End Date and booyah!!  This makes my day!   Smiley

I had the same problem with repeating events and am trying to do it your way ImNoPrince, however it keeps giving me invalid time and I don't know what it wants. I've tried different times and still get invalid time.  I find the time thing frustrating because many of my reacurring events don't need times, I use them as a reminder for the day. I wish it had a no time feature.

Please advise,

Katrin

Katrin can you Post exactly how you try to set one up as it is right before you hit Save.

this way I can try it and see what Fails.

I know the Start Time has to be Before the End Time even if it's Days away. Ie 8:00am on Aug5th needs a 8:30 stop even if it's for Sept 5th with a weekly Repeat. Then you can't do the 12:00am and a Alert that would go into the prevous day either.
