Does that also erase your address book? Or just restore factory settings on applications?

if the address book is erased, you still have mobile sync.

It depends which "reset settings" you are talking about. If you are talking about the email application and you go to Settings > reset settings, it will remove all of your email accounts on the phone but it wont remove address book or anything else not related to email.

basically just resets, volume, brightness basic phone functions...etc..most likely you will not lose any important information..
