Hi all. Yes, I did use the search feature before posting this, and yes I did try to post to the proper thread, but its locked. Anyway, has anyone experimented with different buffer lengths? What is the maximum possible buffer length, and will this make internet connections even faster on Instinct? Thanks!

I just did this mod today and it is noticeably faster.  Is there any downside to doing this to your phone?  I only changed the buffer length to 20....nothing else.

None that we know of, flyjbaker. So long as the buffer was all that you changed and no slot numbers, you should be fine.

Correction, I didn't do that, and my videos mystically no longer crash to the homepage.... Embarrassed Shocked

The MMG change referenced helps smooth SprintTV. The max buffer length helps with that as well and both can live in harmony with one another. Smiley

I haven't actually heard of a problem yet like you had (land line but not cell calls coming through). Did you also change the slot index when you changed the MMG IP info? The slot index, we figured, didn't need to be changed and was causing some folks to not receive calls at all, they went straight to voicemail.

Your news videos will not work when changing the MMG IP and port to all 0s... this has been  noted several places on the site. You have to decide if the change makes your TV exceptionally clearer and you'll sacrifice the news videos, or if you don't notice enough of a change and want the news video option.

What should the slot index be set on?
