if you raise hell with sprint   either over the phone or instant message.   You can get out of your 2 year contract with ease.  I finally became too feed up with lack of reception (at work I would lose all reception completely)  and complete lack of any applications rivaling the phone which should not be named offers.

It took all of 8 minutes of IM  to get out of the $200 termination fee.    Complain that you think it horse crap that sprint is raising the "administration Fee's" starting in January.  Granted it going from $.75 to $1.  but they are re-negotioning your contract, and if you refuse they have to cut you free at no cost. but if you pay your bill for January then you just agreed to this.

I've been a sprint member for 5 years, and it time to move to greener pasture  ( we all know they are never greener)    I've had my head butts with them before, but its time to cut the ties.

Happy new years and best wishes to all.   I just thought i would get this info out to any that wish move on.

Actually by paying your bill in January you are not. If you read your contract, you have 30 days from when it hits the account to cancel, and it doesn't say payment of any such fee is agreement.

Edit: I pulled all relevant information to this off the sprint website, and have it in a word document with the important stuff highlighted, should anyone wish to use it.

I have had a cell or car phone since 1992, when the phones were giant boxes for cars. I have used every major service, AT&T, Sprint, etc, even Virgin... I have now been with Sprint for about 5 years and have had my share of issues and arguments with them. I do have to say that lately the customer service has been very responsive, when i have a problem they are now quick to fix it. The even call me back the next day to make sure I was satisfied. A couple of years ago they had a special for a Treo I wanted for $200 for new customers, I wanted that phone but they were going to charge me $500, so I called their customer retention dept and asked them why they treat non customers better than customers, they then gave me the phone for $200. I had to fight but I got it. The point is, you can switch if you want but you wont get better serrvice anywhere else, I know this for a fact. Also, I use my phone at Lake Texoma and Lake Fork in Tx and the other services I have had got no reception at either, but my Sprint service does. Anyway, hope this shines some light on the industry for you guys... from someone who knows... the grass is not greener...
