Is there a way if I text someone to keep them from seeing my number?

I'm not sure if it works for texts but if you dial *67 before the numbers for calls it come up as unknown caller.

**edit**  does not work for text.  It won't let you dial * or # in the manual entry screen.

I have my phone blocked by default. (sprint will do this for you free of charge- they only charge to take it back off)
so when calling people that i WANT to see my number, i dial *68 before the number,
now the problem is, if you send a text to that contact, they will never get it.
I have to have the number saved for each contact twice, one with the 68 prepend and one without.(i save the one without as a pager number)
when i need to send a text mesage, i simply choose the pager number, instead of the the normal dialing number (or speed dial in most cases)
this may be further than you want to go, and until you get used to prepending all your numbers, it can be a hassle, but i've had my number blocked for years, and have accustomed myself to knowing who i allow so see my number.
