Is there a way to play WAV files on the Instinct? My Cisco phone emails my voicemail in wav format and I can't play it on the Instinct. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I get the same from my Vonage home phone line (.wav voicemail file).  I asked this question a couple of places and got no answer so I fear that at this time we're out of luck.  Mebbe some third party plug-in in the future.

Let me know if you find anything......Frank

Email has an icon recognizing it as a sound file and a player loads in the background after download but it gi es an error. Almost like they didn't finish development of the file support but intended to at some point. Very frustrating...

I have some short .wav sound bites that I use as ring tones so the phone definitely supports it.

New member...longtime browser.  On my 4th Instinct now.  I realize this is an old post but...One crazy thing about this very frustrating .wav issue is that when you 'forward' a voicemail to your email from the Instinct...it is sent to your email in a .wav file from the instinct...crazy Angry

Would like to open this question again...

I get emails from my answer machine with a .wav file attached. When I try to open the file I get an error, but if I say 'save to music' it comes up with a "saved" message...
When I go to the music section, I cannot find it on the phone anywhere...

Anyone have this issue? Or a solution?  I cant have the answer machine send it in any other format.

Yeah, i was discussing this in another thread.  Interesting as you guys point out.
(visual) Voicemails, when you forward them, come to your email as wav files.
The phone allows me to save wav files, but not play them.

So playing around, I had my daughter leave me voicemail at the office, on a box that autoforwards it to email (as a low quality wav).  I can save it, but not play it.  I used Rumkin to upload this same wav file to my phone as a ringtone, and it works well.

Very strange, would make you think there's a way someone (smarter then I) could make an ap that would play wav files.

Still no resolutions or answers with .wav file playing?
Seems silly that we cannot play a wav file on the phone, but I keep getting errors trying to play a voicemail sent from someone...
