when i press on a contact on the speed dial list to call, it resets and want to reassign a speed dial from the contact list and if your not careful it will delete the one you selected and add whichever you selected from the contacts. has this happened to anyone else??

BUMP

Anybody found a solution to this problem, or is this just another random suck that we'll have to deal with until we upgrade to a new phone?  I like this phone so much, but it's amazing how annoying the little things can be.  the space bar often picks up x or c instead of space, the auto-correct often forgets what the original word was, usually showing just the first letter as an option to undo, the phone often freezes when it realizes it's low on battery, picture mails are often pending forever, GPS often misplaces me to the left of the road I'm on until I power cycle the phone, or thinks i've passed an intersection when I'm stopped at it and has to recorrect which takes forever, and for some reason, sprint won't let 3rd party apps run in the background, meaning as much as I brag about my instinct, my friend with his iPhone just laughs and has his phone balance the federal budget with a program coded by a 9 year-old.

I know this isn't really the place to be whining about these features, and nobody will ever see this in such an old thread, but I had to get it out there somewhere.

Great phone, could be so much better.

There is a place for this... it's called the venting room.

I'm assuming no.  I've never had this problem on my phone.

Seems to happen most frequently after running an app, or after the phone has been idle for a while.  For example, nearly every time I'm in Navigation, if I hit the phone key and go to speed dial, I press a name and it resets back to speed dial.  As soon as you press the name, it switches over to "Add New Speed Dial" and replaces the one you wanted with whichever one is in the spot you pressed on the alphabetical list, so I end up replacing my boss with my mother-in-law.  And sometimes it even calls the person that was the replacement.

Very frustrating.  Hopefully this is a per phone issue.  I've had so many minor problems with my phone, sprint thinks it's the phone itself and they shipped me a new one today.  Hopefully this will resolve most of my issues.

I can't make it happen on mine.

Now I'm wondering if that problem was in older/earlier releases of the Instinct.

How long ago did you guys get yours?  I just got mine last week.  I set up and have been using speed dial every day with no problems.

I only got mine in mid january.  That's why I'm concerned.  It hasn't really been that long.  Maybe the replacement will be unaffected.

I've noticed it happens on mine when I quickly tap a contact on the speed dial list.  If I tap and hold for a split secondad on a contact it'll call them instead of trying to assign a new contact.  See if that works for you.

I'm now in the habit of tap and hold for a split second and it very rarely messes up for me now.
