Is the microSD card in the phone? You can't take photos or play music w/o it.

I just got the same message. And was scared. But this because I pushed the lower right icon when aiming the camera. (this icon looks like a little photo with the outline of an eye - this buton is actually for looking at your current photos - so if you do not have any, it will  say no media file.)

In fact, you have to push the button on top of the phone to take a picture.

That help?

Thanks for the help/answer on this one.

I am already on my 2nd Instinct because the first did not recognize a media card.  When I got the replacement at the store (another story but i will say the sprint employees were very helpful) and then got the "No Media File" message I thought here we go again.

anyway, thanks!

The memory card error that you got and returned the phone was not because of the phone "tiger1050"...Your media card was corrupted..That phone is still of good use...using a object to pull the card out or doing something other then ejecting the media card with a push can cause the memory card to corrupt.  Many people are going to experience this..So please inform them of the info i just shared. All they need is a brand new card.

Although that would make sense I did test another MicroSD card from my other phone and when I returned to the store that was the first thing the Service Techs also did...I watched them.  They inserted another card.

Also the problem occured without me ever touching the microcard that came preinstalled in the Instinct.  So in my case the techs and myself both agreed it was something wrong with the internal card reader itself.

Wow.. could I feel any more stupid at this point?  not even possible.  I have been beside myself trying to figure that out.

I am of the opinion that if technology requires you to RTFM, then it is not advancement at all.  I, like many others I am sure, was trying to press the little Icon to take a picture.  The result was the No Media File message.  So thanks for the post.  I am thinking that maybe I should actually RTFM now.
