I got a prompt for a music update about a week ago and proceeded.  Since then, whenever I try to access music I get the yellow circle for a bit and then back to the "Fun" screen.  Soft rebooting isn't helping.  I now have music version 3.0.57.  Not sure what I had before the update.  Has anyone else seen this yet or know of a fix? - Thanks.

Sorry to bear the bad news, but this is a quote on the music player version you have, by one of the techs, lwm:

"I work in technical support for the company that engineers and supports the MusicStore. The best way for us to fix this is to call Customer Care at Sprint and ask them to open a case to pass to the SM-Data team who will in turn log a case with us so we can investigate.

Despite all the posts here there is no build 3.0.57 for M800. So if you or anyone else is getting prompted to upgrade to this version, it's either that the phone is mis-identifying itself to our servers (which would be a bad error) or someone pushed you a manual upgrade link (but that would be done via email or SMS).

The best way we can help you is for you to open a case so we'll have details like MSIDSN, ESN and internal account IDs for Music Store"

I would definately avoid this update...the current version is supposed to be 2.2.48

Not what I was hoping to hear at all, but thanks for the info.  I should lobby for a refund on the $1 songs that I've purchased and can no longer access without my music player working......

I have the same problem AND there is no way of avoiding this update. It would NOT let me use the music player until I installed the update and my sister has the same phone and they TOTALLY screwed her over and reset her phone (she lost everything) AND gave her an update for an older Nextel model...Huh?? What's up Sprint??? You guys on drugs or what??!!!

Called Sprint and they confirmed.  The only way to fix it is through the music store and since the problem doesn't allow you to even open the music application it requires a complete device reset.  Seems a little odd, but I guess that's the boat we're in.

So I was another victim of the music store update snafu;  it left my music player, my music, and the store inaccessible.  I had to reset my phone, re-download all my purchased apps and games....and after all that --  I'm getting prompted AGAIN to download the music store update! I am able to access my music player, and all my music, thankfully.  But what about the music store???  This totally blows -- is there a work around or fix to this, or is the music store inaccessible to us indefinitely?

Just a comment regarding the update/build number-- When I open Music, there isn't any update or build number provided in the information; the message simply states that "a" Music player update is available, and without it, the music store cannot be accessed" -- period.

How do we know what update or build number it is?  I'm just getting a generic "there's an update available" message.  I downloaded the update, it botched up my music app, and I had to reset my phone.  I'm still getting prompted to download the update,  which I'm not doing -- but is there any way to identify the successor, or next "safe" update?
