I had this issue.
Did you buy this card or is it from the samsung instinct package?
If package, put the sd card in the sd reader, atatch the sd reader to your hardrive, open all of the removable disk in my computer, untill you find the folder for the sd card, than make A new folder called music, drag music into it,take sd out of sd reader, put in phone.

put the sd card in the phone, atatch the to to your hardrive, open all of the removable disk in my computer, untill you find the folder for the sd card, than make A new folder called music, drag music into it,check your phone.
Do not open sprint media.

You should find A dcim folder, make A picture file in it,drag pictures to the folder.

Do you have all of the info on your card backed up on your pc ? if so, try putting the card into the card reader and into the pc, and format it. Then, readd all of your files, and see if that helps.

my 8gb was showing up as not inserted when I tried to play music or load videos, so i went to the camera and took a picture.  This "formatted" it to be recognized on my phone and everything else worked after this.

Not sure if this is your problem, but it might be worth a try.  Smiley

Gonna bump this, seems to me to be a big issue.  I purchased a Kingston 4 gig card a couple weeks ago before I went on vacation.  Filled with music and pics from the trip, no problems working fine.  Have not done a lot with the phone since vacation, and noticed last night, my card was unreadable.

I have the update, I warned my gf not to update her phone.  We popped the card put it in hers, reads no problem, not so much in mine.  I followed the many suggestions in this thread, formatted the card, recopied the data (it was visible to the pc when tethered usb), tried taking a pic, tried the ##usb# thing, nothing worked.  The card is not recognized at all by my phone with the firmware update.

What options did you format the card as?

Mine reads the card properly at Fat32/32k cluster size.  Another possibility is that the card reader in your phone might have some hardware failure and that the firmware update is just a coincidence.

I formatted fat32, but again, the format and file copies are being done through usb with the card in the phone.
