I checked the site and found a few other posts about this, but no solution. Most people say to make sure that the songs are MP3 format, which I did. I have a 16 gb memory card  and it was working fine for a couple of weeks. The other day I put a few more songs on it and it worked fine a  few times, then it started doing the Maximum # of Songs thing. It's so weird because it just stopped working. Normally when that message pops up, it just happens once, then I restart it and it's fine. But this time, it keeps on popping up. I tried resetting the phone, taking out the battery and I even went thru the most recent songs I added to make sure the files weren't corrupted or some weird format. I'm not even going to bother calling Sprint because this site seems to have much better solutions than they do. Please help me out.

Yeah. I've had a 16 gb card for about three weeks now and was working fine until like 3 days ago.

I think I have around 997 songs on it. I'm not sure because it never fully loads anymore, but I'm pretty sure that number is accurate. Anyway, I know that I'm nowhere near the limit of space. I have a 16 gb memory card and I'm only using a total of about 4 gb of space.

I had the same problem. The issue was I transfered songs into my Sprint Media manager that were protected and transfered them into the phone. It doesnt work, it will keep telling you you've exceeded your limit, when you havent. This will happen if you try to even transfer even ONE song that is protected.
Connect your phone back to your computer and remove any songs that are protected and it will run like gold after!

Thanks. I'll give it a try and see if it works. But how would I know which songs are protected? Someone from Sprint told me to delete all files that end in WMA. I'm not sure what that's supposed to do, but I tried it and it didn't work.

In your sprint media manager, to the right of the song name and artist it will say if the song is protected or not. What I do is click the protected tag at the top to sort it out by protected or not, then delete the ones that are protected. I have no problems since then, and I have a 8gig card with 6 full lenghth movies on it and 1000 songs.

I don't use Sprint Media Mgr. I heard that it sux. I've been using Media Monkey to manage my music files. Unfortunately, I don't think it displays which files are protected. I think I'm gonna have to do a trial & error thing and go thru my most recent songs that I loaded and see which ones don't play in Windows Media Player. If a song is protected, Windows Media Player won't let it play. I guess I'll do that until I find an easier way. Heck, I might load Sprint Media Mgr just to use it for the purpose of finding the song(s) that's causing the problem.
