In regards to your problem with the "music limit", here's what I have personally found (after nearly two hours of slamming my head against the wall).

I had gotten the same error after uploading roughly 60 new songs onto my OEM 2gig card.  I had already loaded on about 120 songs from day one and about 300 pictures.  At this point, I still had over a gig of empty space left.  After doing my research, I found that it was ONE song (yes, just one song) that was causing this error.  My aptly named "MEGAMIX.mp3" topped out at nearly 85mb and for some reason, the Instinct refused to play it, much less be in the same room.  After removing this one song, everything went smoothly as usual.

My 2 cents, look for any bloated song files, remove them from the card, and try again.  This may or may not be the case for you, but I hope it helps.

ROCK ON!

Kind of what I figured but after I weeded them down to 940 it works.  Now to figure out which of the other 600 it was...

Thanks for the help.

As i said the istinct supports up to 32mb sd cards dont read stuff from those forums i got that directly from Samsung, and they told me the 16mb cards should be out pretty soon but they will be expensive like over $100.

As of the webcast today, NO the phone we currently own will not support cards larger than 8GB. These quotes were taken from the transcript here
http://wikis.sun.com/display/SPRINT/Sprint+Samsung+Instinct+2008+07+09+Webcast+1+of+2

k_mehr: Will the Instinct be able to handle/support a 16GB or 32gb MicroSD card whenever they are released?
Ram_K> Instinct at max supports 8GB MicroSD card but we are definately going to look at extending this functionaly in our future releases. Thank you for your feedback.

mmbeltran: When you say that you are looking at extending the functionality to support more than 8gb in future releases, does that mean future hardware releases or firmware/software based updates?
Jay-Sprint> Support for larger memory cards is hardware dependent and will be a consideration with next generation of Instinct models.

There you go exactly as i was told that it will support up to 32mb as soon as the card is released but for now there is no 16mg card out yet but it will be soon.

Ok and for the problems your having with the song limit this is cause by the crappy sprint media manager software please dont use that crap or it will mess up all of your songs.

Either drag and drop the music on your card if you can pput the card in your computer or just use windows media player to sync the music and the media manager is a peace of crap software that needs alot of work on it.

NO -- the handsets everyone purchased at the release are NOT capable of larger cards. Future versions of the handset will be updated. Based on what that webcast response said, our phones that we currently have in our possession will not be able to ever use cards larger than 8GB.

Please correct me if I am misunderstanding you.  Smiley

The larger cards will work when they are released the only say 8gb because at the time thats all they had to test I would be willin to wager If someone had a 16 or 32gb card now and you popped it in it would work. They can't say that it will because they havent had to test it themselves. Even if by the smallest chance it didnt work right now it's a software fix to make it work. I have an old phone that says it will only work with a 512mb card but works fine with my 8gb card.
