I have the replacement plan on my account and they couldn't fix my phone today, so gave me a new (well, refurbished) phone in it's place.  Had minor problems with my other phone.  When I got this one home, I noticed that there's a black speck in the middle of the screen behind the glass.  I can't seem to get it out!  Is this worth bringing it back to the store for?  I know it's picky, but my other phone was flawless.  By the way, I really like my instinct!

maybe it has a screen protector. try putting a piece of tape on the corner and lifting to see

Thanks for the advice!  It doesn't appear to have a screen protector, it seems like it's underneath the touch part of the screen...

take it back and complain majorly. wen i got my replacement phone it had some problems. before i even got it i knew it was goin to be refurbished. so wen i had it in my hands i inspectected it thoroughly and found some flaws. i called in a B****ED and they sent me a brand new phone. new everything really.

It'll drive you crazy.  Get another one.   I replaced my first instinct because there was some dirt or something under the screen.

I'll bring it in tonight and hopefully they will take care of it.  I'm sure they will.  I kind of wish they'd get me a new one instead of refurbished.  If they give me another refurbished and there's a problem with it, I'll complain until I get a new one.  Thanks for the help!

if the phone you had origionaly had a factory defect you should be given a new phone. if it was something like water damage, or a cracked screen you will get a referb, at least that is my understanding. when my headphone jack went kaput they gave me a brand spankin new one.
I would ask for a different one if their was a spec under my screen as well.

Well, I brought it in last night and they basically laughed at me.  The guy pretended that he didn't see the spec (granted, it is small, but it's not just the black spec, but the fact that they gave me a phone with a defect).  They brought it to the repair person and they wouldn't open it to clean it out since he said they'd probably get more dirt in there by doing that.  They also said they wouldn't replace the phone since it's cosmetic and won't affect the operation of the phone.  I'm really not happy right now.  I called customer support last night and they said the Sprint store should take care of me and to take it back and call tech support if needed and they will talk to them for me.  I may call and ask for a manager to the store I took it to this morning and see what they say.

Anyway, thanks for the help.  I'm going to keep on this until they take care of it...

called spring tonight to get a new instinct..hopefully i get new not refurbished. mine is still in 100% excellent condition especialy thx to the zagg screen protector..

reason for my replacement was because it keeps loosing speed dial contact pictures...not a big deal but kind of annoying. i liked that feature on the phone and it bugs me seeing stupid "!"s every other time it loooks, and having to readd them.

Ill cross my fingers. I was surprised how cooperative spring was though. so that was good.

and just an fyi my zagg screen protector started coming off a little and i called them also.. sending me a new kit as well under warranty.

just thought id actually give some customer service credit for once instead of bashing!!!

When I got my phone back from the repair center looking at my instinct.....it then had A LOT of fuzz under it.  I am getting a replacement anyway and will  police inspect police then as well.

I had to get a new phone as well. Lost original.  Anyway they told me I would be getting a refurb as well.  In the phone dialer, I pressed ##786# and then view.  If you scroll through, there's a place that says "Reconditioned Status."  My second phone says "NO" in this spot, even though they said it would be a refurb.  I managed to find my 1st phone, and it says "NO" also, and I got it the day the instinct was released.  Also has some other neat things like hrs used and data(kb) downloaded

My new phone has a red spec in the center and yellow spec at the bottom left hand corner in landscape mode... I only see them if I use an app or sprint tv... I didn't care enough to get a new one because it didn't bother me at first, but now it bugs me.  I'd return it for a new phone, but I will never exchange mine for a refurbished one.  Refurbished=bad news!
