does not appear to install...samething happens....

click link on homepage and just downloads again...says installing.....and hangs on white page.....

click home (of which the sprint page is not my home page), even refreshing the sprint page just shows the download link again....

It's installed. It downloads and installs but does not give any confirmation that it was complete. The white web page is just a blank page where the executable was downloaded from. Just close your browser and go to News and you will see it creating a new account and downloading updates. Also, go to Main, Settings, General, Phone Info, and if you have Pocket Express 1.1.5, it installed successfully.

I was getting 'uncaught exception' when trying to use News or Movies for the last several days. I'm assuming this update was urgent in order to fix the problem, and was rushed out the door, and thats why the install procedure isn't very clean.

Bingo!

I initially thought the text message was SPAM with a virus link, so I immediately deleted the message.

Then I came here and was enlightened.  I typed in the URL and was able to download the update.  Go forum!

Sprint's simple solution to this is to POINT YOUR CUSTOMERS TO YOUR OWN WEBSITE!!  If the link was "www.sprint.com/blah/..." my comfort level would've been much higher!

Jeebus.

The mistery or bogus looking message arrived first on my wife's phone, then mine. I replied with "who are you?", to what they inmediately replied "39549: Sprint approved upgrade. Tap URL to proceed with required web access fix or dial *2 to speak with a customer care rep".

That made it somewhat edible, so I updated mine in case it would crash the phone (can't leave the wife without the blah, blah machine...LOL) Grin
