My wife and I both got our instincts in late July and hers has developed a very annoying bug in the last week.  She will be on the "speed dial" screen and press a name.  The phone will then delay for a few seconds and appear to not respond.  If she presses the name again it will flash to her contact list and proceed to replace the speed dial she'd been trying to call with whatever name her finger is on when the contacts screen flashes up.  This of course deletes one of her predefined speed dials and replaces it with someone who would normally just be a contact.  Then she'll have to edit the speed dial list to delete the new addition and add the original back again.  Has anyone experienced anything like this yet?  Its been occurring intermittently up to 3 times daily.  I'd like to say it's a software glitch and the updates will help, but I haven't seen anyone else with the issue yet.

Thanks

When was the last time the phone was shut down completely and restarted? Throw in a battery removal for a minute too?  Sounds stupid, but it does clear some odd quirks sometimes.  As for your specific case, I haven't myself experienced that.

We have shut it down and restarted, but haven't yet tried a soft reset (I believe this is pulling the battery out with the phone on?).  I'll also see what starting fresh on the speed dial contacts does.

Thanks for the tips

I have had this exact thing happen to me, and it is a real inconvenience! Someone needs to bring it to the attention of the Sprint software people, because Sprint tech support sure isn't going to be able to do anything about it.  Though they might keep you on the phone for 6 hours trying to act as if they know what they are doing.

Send in a bug report through the Sprint email support.

Well I'm glad to know we aren't the only ones.  I've tried the soft reset and will see if the problem persists.  Then we may try deleting all speed dials and starting fresh.  Either way, I definitely agree this is something that Sprint should know about as it is a big pain in the neck.....

Well, I submitted a bug report to Sprint.  Hopefully this will be addressed in future updates.

Yep I've been having the same problem. My contacts also seem to do this ... not sure what does it though. Guess I should take the phone in and get it look at.

My phone does the same thing, but if I hit the back arrow key before I try that contact again, it does not delete the contact in speed dial.
