I'm afraid to inform you all that I'm jumping ship on the morrow. The Instinct has been a major disappointment, and if it were not for all of the wonderful people at this forum, I probably would have done so even earlier. I can't thank you enough for what you all have done for me, but I need a phone that Sprint is actually going to support. Especially lately my phone has been acting up, and I've realized a replacement just isn't good enough, this phone is just too riddled with bugs for me.

The immediate cause of my decision to move though, was the release notes on MR-6 (which as I understand is the final update to be release by Sprint, correct me if I am wrong.) They will open the API's sure, but they just have not solved any of my problems with this phone.

So thank you all for being so great, this is a great forum and every one of you deserves a cookie (chocolate chip of course)!

does anyone else find it funny people are jumping ship from a phone that promised so much and delivered "so little" to another phone that is set up to do the same?  I mean, the instinct did exactly as it was advertised to me, 'fast' internet (for at phone), threaded texts, picture mail, visual voicemail, 2.0mp camera, and best of all a great telephone.

I don't understand why people feel the instinct is not going to get any more updates.  they may not update the instinct directly, but don't we use the same OS and software as the s30?  sprint JUST released that and not giving up on it so soon.  they'll be new s30 customers, new complaints, and we'll get updates.

Well, I doubt if this is the first time for some here who are "jumping ship."

That is a habit with many people and some do it at the drop of a hat, meaning as soon as something comes up with their situation/device/wife/school/car/computer/bicycle/gum, etc.

What makes me laugh more is the fact that people think they need to start a thread as though anyone gives a flying f@@k wether they keep the instinct or not.

Most entertaining.

Crazy Person was nice to say good bye and thank us for helping out. I understand those that jump ship because I used to be one of them! I am in recovery now and I am sticking with the Instinct because it does almost everything that I want. What it can't do, my Ipod Touch can.

The pre is not for me. The keyboard is a sick joke and no mem card slot. The OS is nice but they put it into a disastrous form factor.
still haves high hopes for Instinct 2.

That is cool and no disrespect intended by my remarks above.

Just an observation over the years.

I went to the sprint store today and tried out the new palm pre and paired it with my bluetooth speakers and they WORKED and it was really LOUD, I was able to use the gps and have music playing in the backround, it muted the music everytime it had to prompt me for a turn. If this doesn't get fixed on the instinct soon then I'm gonna have to go with the palm pre, it sucks because I really like this phone. Sprint tv, games and everything else also work with any stereo bluetooth headsets/speakers without putting in the stupid headphone wire and taking it out like on our instinct. It's a damn shame they can't do a simple fix to the instinct, but they can come out new versions of the instinct that are worst than the first one.
