the mods here are really restrictive in people's discussions. "i'm moving this thread to..." "i'm locking this thread because...." I can't find the threads i've posted or the threads i'm interested in cause it keeps getting moved around. Guess what? the 'search' here suck ballz, YOU mods try using that pathetic search engine. I'm sick of reading other members threads and posts, just to find mods jumping in to dictate how they want the discussion to go. Maybe you guys should chill, and try to leave this up to see if anyone out there agrees, or is it just me.......

I find everything I need through the search function.  Maybe it's because I have patience and take my time to read through them or maybe it's because I am an expert on the search button.  I dont know.

I do know that if we didn't "move this" "move that" "merge this" then you wouldn't be able to find half of what you find now  Wink  If you did then you would ahve to read through 50 MSL threads and 300 Sprint TV threads and then you would complain about having to read through so many threads and say "Why won't the mods just put these together." 

I'll tell ya what.  If you need to find something then PM me and I'll find it for you.  I'll ease your suffering if you're having that much trouble.  Deal? Smiley

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. And so are the staff members here. When last I checked, this is a free forum ... and as such, you participate here of your own free will. If you don't like how it is run, I encourage you to go elsewhere as I think you might feel more comfortable there. How this forum is run will not be changing.

Hey, if you think it's all heaven in the forum world...open one, collect over 17 Thousand members and don't move anything...then...in the chaos of forums, take people asking why don't you organize anything....
This site is organized...Go MODS!!!!
If they didn't move things you'ld have people asking "what's the vibrating thingie on the phone"....in the vent section, or "you guys suck" in the raves section....common sence my man...

Yes, it is you, I'm sorry to say.  Smiley  If you're not happy with the way the forum is run, you should try to run a forum yourself to see what it's like.  Without the mods here, these forums would be even more chaotic.  It's a tough job for them to try to put some semblance of organization when people are so careless.

The search works very well, but you need to know what to enter in terms of key words to bring up what you want.  Sometimes you have to repeat the search a couple of times and use alternate words.

to be honest, there is definitely more linking and merging than in most forums...  but the mods here are definitely more actively involved in the threads and posts than in other forums as well and i think they do a nice job. 

typically, it's probably the best way to just let a post die on its own by going to the 2nd or 3rd page, but i'm sure after reading the same question for the 30th time, it does get old, so i don't fault them for locking/merging/linking threads - after all, i'm pretty sure they're instinct users as well and they're interested in the 'new' discoveries too.  and with the instinct as its pretty limited now, there are only x number of functions that you can talk about before it gets repetitive...  until they release the update and applications.

and yes, the search function isn't the greatest, but you go with what you have.  now, as soon as they fix the mobile links and add a mobile search function...  ;-)  hehe...

No..It's not just you.  There have been a couple more people who have whined about this "moderated forum".  I've been on forums with non-existent mods, and it's like walking through a junkyard. This is by far the best, most well-organized, instinct forum there is.  Are the mods perfect?  No, nobody is.  But they do a helluva job keeping the place running.  All you need to do is learn to use the search. Just for practice type in "moderated forum" and you'll find the other whiner person who prefers anarchy.  Maybe you guys could start your own forum? INSTINCTANARCHIST.com

Not like this is an easy job. We all take tons of time out of are days to make sure its a clean smooth running site.  We don't move and merge topics cause we have it out for certain people, its all about making sure its in order and not a junkyard like -Z- pointed out.

samsneeze your exactly right this is your world we just live here by all means please clutter up my favorite forum and bash our ever so helpfull mods the same mods that every time i tear into one of the many people that aggitate me beyond comprehension politely move my "colorful" statements that i love to direct at afformentioned posters to the archives so no one else has to see them
so once again i will remain as silent as i can

sir shy, we don't move your colorfulness without reason -- it's not you being colorful that causes it to be moved, it's mostly the reason that caused you to be colorful in the first place... THAT piece gets moved and all of the things associated with it. Smiley
