So i got a nice new 8gb sdhc card and the farken thing keeps tripping uncaught exception. From what ive searched that is just a general error almost any app can trip, ive also read that as it applies to my situation; loading music and using the music player, it comes about most commonly from corrupt files?

This is super frustrating, anyone have any idea how to make this work? Time to call sprint and get money knocked off my bill.

BTW, I reformatted the entire card after backing up the files on it, then recopied the backup onto the card, so I guess If i copied a corrupt file that may of not fixed anything. Uhhh as well I was using Windows Media player's sync feature to convert my files into 128kbps then write to the card, that for some reason in the middle of doing an album freaked out and stopped working giving just "error" as a msg, rebooting fixed it, but this may be my corrupt file.

Sounds like you have answered your own question. Do you still have the fresh files from before WMP converted them. if so, try dragging and dropping the fresh copies on the card and reload......hopefully you can find which on/ones are corrupt w/o having to go through your whole playlist.  hope ive helped.

Called Sprint advanced tech, they have no known issues for this. I shouldnt have corrupt music files, unless they became corrupt from the conversion. Anyways one thing I didnt realize is that I was using the SD card reader to do all this and not the usb cable to my phone.

Ive never used my card reader yet to put music on my phone, I wonder if thats the issues. Going to trouble shoot this now by just trying reader vs. usb cable and  using WMP vs. not using WMP.

Anyone else know of a good converter tag writting sync type software, I know ive seen a few links here and there just never saved them.

Update: been trouble shooting this all day and havent really fell upon any solid patterns good or bad except one. It seems to not trip the error when not having to scan and update large amounts of change in data on the card.

500mb uploaded just fine
800mb uploaded just fine
4gb Nope Uncaught Exception
5.3gb Nope Uncaught Exception

However, iirc I did trip an error just while playing a song, which ive read happening to people. If this is true and it starts happening to me then there is no explanation that I can come up with to explain this error other than s***ty ass buggy software from a developer company that got bought out for 45 cents on the dollar and btw Sprint was their only client for the states...

All these issues go along side of another known issue which will be linked below of maximum number of songs, people claim different errors in that msg, mine says 1252 is max, when I would only have 400 or so songs and lots of free space. I restarted my phone and this error did not appear again. Until I transfered another chunk of data on the phone, at which point another restart fixed it up.

I would like to note here for anyone else present or future having this issues, I really found no relationship or consistences with these errors other than how much data I transfered at once. Ive read about corrupt files and illegal chars and even wma formats causing Uncaught Exception errors, Ive backed up, re-encoded, and fixed meta tags (which btw I still have no idea what the s30 actually reads to get its info, whether its IDE 3.2 or what) and found no relationship to any of these being the problematic. Rock on Sprint, Rock on Samsung, Rock on broke ass developer companies taking on too big of contracts they cant properly handle.
