Instinct S30 Freezes when receiving text

I keep my phone locked. When I receive a text, move the slider to 'read', enter my security code, I see the box announcing the phone is entering the Sprint Service area (which in itself is annoying) and that's it. Phone does nothing. Trying to lock and unlock the phone does nothing.

I have to shut it down to 'fix'
