Web Browser Zoom/Facebook on Web Browser

When browsing sites such as Facebook and other sites, I've noticed that the pictures can be very small and only a fraction of the webpage. After trying to zoom to 2x on multiple pictures, I've noticed that they are always blurry. What's the point of the zoom if it can't re-calibrate images and effectively zoom?

Also, the mobile Facebook has been decent but not great. I know there is a Facebook page designed specifically for iPhone. Does anyone think this iPhone version instead of the standard mobile version would work better on the Instinct?
