That is some good info, I guess it explains why Opera is so much faster for browsing and speed tests. I suppose it does invalidate a normal file downloading bandwidth test.

Yes they do. Speaking of numbers I had a chance to play with an Iphone 3G last night. It was posting 1.5Mbps in Safari and the pages looked beautiful, just like on a PC. My poor Instinct was only getting 400bps on the built in browser and the pages looked like s***.

Right now the Iphones internet blows Instinct away, as long as your in a 3G zone. I hear the 3G coverage is spotty tho. I'm still anxious to see how updates and new browser support will help the Instinct out.

I tried out a iphone 1g with tmobile edge for a few days before deciding to stick with sprint for other reasons. The Edge is slow yes, but not horrible on the iphone as the browser is amazing. Also another amazing thing is the html email.
I think the processor helps the phone out a lot.

Those speeds are about the same as what I get here in Baltimore.

NCCW = 680
MST = 830
DSL = 380

Huge difference between DSL and the rest. Done from couch in central FL.
