I CANT DELETE UNDER SLOT INDEX THA NUMBER 2   WHY ISNT WORKING ANY MORE?Huh?

Dude, don't change your slot index number from 2.  It has nothing to do with internet or multimedia.  It has to do with your phone checking for calls.  Only change buffer size.

ok i have read this hole thread now im just wondering if there is really a way to speed up the web broser? the slotindex will not change it and the buffer increase will only make it seem faster.

The only difinitive way to speed up the browser is to just use Opera.  Smiley

Just registered over 11mbps on the native browser myself...doesn't matter what it registers when webpages take somewhere up to two full minutes just to open.
But opera mini and bolt are super fast

That reading is not correct on mobilespeedtest.com
The reading on DSL reports is accurate, though.
There is no way our internet is 10 times faster than a T1 connection!  I did a double take when I got that reading on mobilespeedtest.com. I don't know why it's doing that.

If I were you I'd hold off on getting an Instinct.  It SUCKS- mine freezes on average 3 times a day and the internet on it is terrible.  Please, don't waste your money. Angry

Thats funny, mine has frozen about 3 times since I got it on the day it was released. MY internet is plenty fast especially with the hack and even without it OperaMini was fast regardless.  IF you must vent there is a room for that.

If you know your MSL, you can greatly increase the performance of all your internet connected programs on the Instinct (as well as other Sprint phones that I've tried) by changing a couple of settings. Under ##data#, select buffer size, delete the 07 and replace it with 20. Then under advanced menu, change the slot index from 2 to 7. After this change you Instinct should restart itself. Upon restart, go to -->main --> setting --> general -->update data profile. Now try you internet browser, news, weather, sports, etc. There should be a noticable difference in speed and smoothness. This speed difference is noticable in vision and power vision service areas. Try it out and let me know your results. Later.

I am astounded.  I just did the above posted changes and, especially after the slot index change from 2 to 7, I see very VERY much more speed in the browser;  going to a site in the opening home page, like CNN, or to a site I enter the URL, it is more than twice as fast.

Question:  why on Earth did Sprint or Samsung have the settings the way they were as default when these settings are obviously more efficient for the device!?
