I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm sure our wonderful moderators will put it where it needs to go.

I live in a fairly large city. I have been with Sprint since '01 and we still don't have EVDO here. Over the years I've asked several customer service reprentatives on the phone as well as several sprint store employees. There are 3 stores within a 50 mile radius. The standard response to the question "So, when are we going to get EVDO here?" was "Very soon!"

That's BS! If it's gonna be tens years tell me ten years. I would stayed with Sprint anyway because there 1rxtt sevice is excellent here. Strong signal everywhere. I just would have gotten different phones. A Rev. A capable device doesn't help if I don't even have the hope of EVER having access.

Also, does anyone have any idea how  they decide where to expand their EVDO coverage? I've seen lists online  of EVDO covered cities in the U.S. There are many, many cities that have a much smaller population than mine so WTF!

I want to know who I can contact at Sprint to get info on their actual plans I my area. I want to petition for coverage in my area!

It depends on various things far to many to list. I work on the cell phone towers through out the country for sub contracted through the various companys. Tmobile, verizon,at&t,sprint and so forth... And this is what i can tell you all the prints and their new plans for upgrading any kind of service takes them years to accually get underway. For instance when i goto a job and look at the RFDS Sheet it will be like this for an example "site name Atlanta metro dome, site number 123456,blah blah and and the very end u will see some s*** thats dated from 10 years ago or longer with the following (Revision 54) or some other number..so all i can tell you is to simply wait....I haven't done any work for sprint sence they merged with nextel a few years back, so im not sure what there up to these days, as for at&t they can blow me with that  iphone g3 s***...now there umts/gsm upgrade is a pain in the ass...
