Im having issues with accessing my Work Email on the instinct...I also have Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail setup on it with zero issues.

I can setup work email fine (which uses Outlook Web Access) and will pull my email messages and sometimes let me receive a few or send one or two emails out but every time after a while (I have deleted it and re-set it up about 4 times) I will get an error that says:

An unsupported request has been made of the server.  If the problem persists, please contact support. (S7123)

Has anyone experienced this before or found a fix for it.

Perhaps your work uses SSL Authentication, and the first couple of times the server lets it slip but then your work's server catches up and is like "Oh no. Your not on SSL. No access." Try it out.

Also, check with your IT staff on the port number your OWA server uses. I know my work uses OWA also and my email wasn't working with default instinct settings. I asked IT for the blackberry settings for OWA and I got a little sheet with the server name and port numbers and that it required use of SSL.

Workplaces mix things up to keep rigid information security. Hope this helps.

Cool..thanks.  Where would you put in the port number on the instinct though?

Let me check ill get back to you on that... should pop up when you begin to setup that OWA account. Are you hitting yes when it asks if your work uses OWA? I know if you hit know it gives you the server/port # option.

at the end of the server address put a colon then the port number

ie

owa.yourcompany.net:877 or whatever, replace 877 with the specified port number

Are you performing a specific action when the s7123 usually pops up? Like sending, getting push, or manual syncing?

As for ports and SSL it either will fail or work correctly. It won’t suddenly change later on. I don’t believe that this is your issue.

Do you regularly receive large attachments? It's possible you are getting an email that the Instinct has a problem reading and throws an s7123 when it gets it. Could be a corrupted email, very large attachment, something in the header information it doesn’t under stand possibly. Look for something reoccurring in your emails around the time you get the error and report back.

No...it usually happens after I pull all my email after setting up the account and then when I try to send an email out on the instinct.

We do use Outlook 2007 at my work and I saw in another thread that the instinct isnt compatible with 2007.

The Instinct is compatible with exchange 2007. It just needs backwards compatibility with webdav to be enabled on the exchange server. But this is only for initially setting up the device. Since you are already past that step, your device is completely compatible.

So, are you saying that you only get the error when you try to send?

Sorry I hit the return button too quick.  We use a secure id token to access OWA. I keep getting a S7123 error, trying to setup my work email at Ford Motor Company. My IT has not been able to solve.  Any other Ford users here or any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanks!

s7123 means your exchange server is sending a command that the Instinct does not understand then errors out. To know exactly what that is, you would have to view the log files from either the Instinct or exchange server. There is really no other way to figure it out without having to look at log files, which often times can be hard for some users to get a hold of.

I guess the best question is:

What are you doing right before this message pops up on the device?
