Problems with Email Feature

Hello fellow Samsung Instinct users!
I have two issues that I would like addressed:

1. For the last two weeks, I haven't been notified of new email through the little "blue star" that appears when you get a new email. The new email will show up when I press the "Refresh" button. However, I liked it better when I was automatically notified of new emails without having to go through all of that. FYI, I am an AOL Email user.

2. It is really frustrating to go through the trouble of typing an email with my big thumbs only for the email to not be sent at all when I click "Send". I will save it in the "Draft" box to be safe but when I send it, the email that I typed will disappear and it won't be sent. I know this because it doesn't appear on my outbox.

I would really appreciate any help that anyone could offer. I did my best to provide as much relevant information as I can.

Try this.

-Click "email"
-Click on the icon in the top left corner. This will take you to the "email home page"
-Click on the little envelope on the right side next to your email
-Click on "settings" on the bottom of the screen
-Go down to "Auto Receive" and make sure the "on" slider is blue. If the "off" is white then slide it to "on"
