I've searched and haven't found nothing I would really like to use the "work calendar" but, of course have no OWA access at my job, and I use a POP3 email from roadrunner ISP.  anybody have a workaround that will get to the work calendar?

Yes.

Follow the Steps ad it's all yours. I have it using a POP3 Verizon account. It's a bit buggy with Going frm Phone to Outlook but from Outlook to Phone is no problem.  Oh and Reminders are hit and miss.

Thank you Prince. DO you know if I need to keep my laptop constantly on, with an internet connection, for the desktop connector to work?

Yes if you want it to Update as you go.

What I have been doing is just turning on the connector and Outlook ( I use MSn for my E-mails) once a Day and then Hit the Refresh. This way it updates everything I need . I turned off Auto Updates on the Works on my Phone.

I really just wanted the better Calender and not worrying to much about the Syncing.  There is also a setting in your Phone to Sync 12 weeks I think it's defaulted at 4 weeks.

I am using Desktop Connector for syncing my outlook calendar.  New appointments that I put into my mobil calendar on my instinct synk with my desktop outlook then disappear from my instinct calendar.  What setting do I need to change to be able to see the appointments on both the desktop and the instinct?

Excuse me if this is not the right thread to discuss this, but this is the only one I could find that is up to date. I just did all the upgrades on the phone and I also download the Desktop Connector (latest version as of Dec 12, 2008 --> 6.6.8.375). I have been doing quite a lot of testing; I am not using the OWA alternative since my work exchange server is behind a pretty tough firewall, which is the reason why I had to use Desktop Connector.

So far everything syncs great and the Calendar works, EXCEPT that when I enter an event via the Instinct and I click Refresh, it deletes the event on the Instinct, but it still shows in Outlook. Let me walk you thru the steps to this which seems very confusing, but I know it is a bug.

1- Make sure you have everything setup and you can make a connection to your Outlook from Instinct to your PC
2- Go to Work Calendar on your Instinct click on Add
3- Enter a Title i.e. Test and then click Save

The system will try to connect to your Outlook on your PC and will send the information from your Instinct to your PC...so far so good...

4- Look at the Instinct and you are back to the Day View on the Work Calendar with the event Test listed and you will notice the little blue vertical line in front of the entry (I think this is indication that the event was sync OK on your Outlook from your PC)
5- Look at your PC and you should see in fact the event Test on the right day and time
6- Click Month on the Instinct to change the view mode on the phone to Month View
7- In the Month View on the Instinct you will see a horizontal bar under the day that you add the event Test, now click Refresh
8- Abracadabra! The event is gone from your Instinct, but it still in your Outlook on your PC

I do not know if this is working as design, but it seems to me there is a bug.

If you try the other way around, say...add the event on your Outlook first and refresh the Instinct to get the information, no problem what so ever, it will work like a charm, you can even delete the event in the Instinct and it will delete on the Outlook like it suppose to do, so I do not know if there are settings that needs to be change, but I have been looking at this from many different ways and I can not figure it out.

I know you can not Cache email on Outlook, I also know about the proxy, I try changing Auto Receive on the phone, change reminders, etc...But I think it is a bug.

It kind of sounds like your notifications database might have become corrupt. If you open the Instinct calender settings you will see an option to change the calender sync window size. Make it larger or smaller, it doesnt really matter so much as long as a change was made.

Try it again after this has been done and let me know if its still not resolved. If not, you can also trying "Refresh All Data" or possible removing the re-adding the account.

edgaradelchi   Please keep us informed here of this .

bdroad   Works for Seven the Makers of the E-mail app.  He is very good at finding solutions and I think some of the Update fixes are direct results of Him on this and BAW . He will ask for exact details and try to duplicate tem and then find you a solution.

Thank you for reporting and keeping up with the App as it helps us all.

To ImNoPrince, thanks for the feedback, I was hopping my note will get to someone on the SEVEN Team...

To bdroad...I try your suggestinons. I Refresh all Data, did the steps again, same results. I Reset Application, started from scratch and added the accounts to the email system on the phone with no problems, but when I do the steps again, same results.

Like I say before: If adding an event from the Instinct phone, I have to also add something to the To: field (which means an email) this is when I am adding an event on the Instinct in the Work Calendar system. This way my event stays in both: the phone and on Outlook. I can live with that for now, I just Add to the To: field my personal email account, the system sends that email with the event information to my yahoo and on yahoo I have a filter that states that all emails receive with my work email address to put on the Trash automatically.

Before using the 'new calendar' you have to make sure your Outlook on your PC is working by using a Exchange Server or at least that is how I made it work. The addition of the Desktop Application that allows you to connect your Outlook Calendar to the Instinct phone is most likely an addition to people using Corporate Emails account that are supported by Exchange Services. If you have a Corporate email that is supported by Exchange and are using Outlook you only need to install the little application created by the SEVEN Group in order to link your PC Outlook to the Instinct, this little piece of application will push your corporate email from your Outlook via the Exchange Server to the Instinct phone and that is how it works. The Instinct phone will you similar interface to the current calendar that comes with the Instinct phone the only difference is that, not only you can store more than 70 events before you are require to start deleting old ones, with the Outlook support it will keep both calendars up-to-date. The only limitations is that on the phone you can hold the previous two weeks from the current calendar day and the next 3 months if I can remember correctly. The other thing is that you need to leave that PC ON always in order for the sync to happen, since I always leave my work computer ON, I always have the information on both calendars up-to-date. These are the only two limitations that I can think of, but at the same time having not only my calendar but also my email from work on my Instinct is pretty convenient considering that I am already paying for a data plan. Just make sure that you are not breaking any corporate policy, in today's world information is power and some companies do not want you to receive emails or sync calendar from your work computer, even thought the technology works. On a final note, if you want to implement this on your home computer, you might probably require to leave your PC ON and also have some sort of server which means a static IP Address in order for the software relay that info to the Instinct and also for the Instinct to find your PC on the internet. I am not sure if this helps you in anyway, but before entering into the technical part aspects of setting up the system these requirements must be met unless something have change in the last 6 months and I have not found out about it. But my system has been working like this since I implemented and I have not had any problems. If anyone else in this forum can light some more information in this issue, please do not hesitate to reply. Good luck and let me know how it goes...
