I have the same issue but this is my work around.....

I deleted my POP 3 account and created a new one.  Once the setup completes and the e-mails download, you can open messages but DO NOT reply/send to any open message!  If you reply, it throws you into the re-enter password loop and I doubt you will receive new messages.  If you do enter your password, it goes back to the open message screen.  If you select reply again, it keeps going through the re-enter password/open message screen scenario.  I found if you only open messages to read them and don't reply at all, you should be able to receive new messages.  In testing the scenario, I sent about 3 tests messages to myself and did receive them.  All we can do at this point is hope Sprint will create a fix for the POP 3 problem.   Sad

I am having the same issue with my instinct. I am trying to set up a comcast web account and finally got these settings to work... kinda

Incoming : mail.comcast.net
               SSL ON
Everything else typed in case sensitive
Outgoing : smtp.comcast.net
               SSL ON
               SMTP AUTH ON
Everything else typed in case sensitive

Mail came in just fine. Instinct will download the first 25 messages (most recent). I can start a reply but the message will not send and gives me a network error.

I tried playing with SSL  and  SMTP AUTH settings to get a combo that worked and even tried tweaking the port number but my mail just wont send. I am seeking for a solution but I know you all who have posted on this thread too are having the same/similary problems. I suppose we can all wait together but atleast I can contribute my problem to this thread.

take care

it depends whether or not your school uses a pop system. i don't really know anything about school it. if all else fails though you could forward that email to an account like yahoo or hotmail and then receive it

I had the same problems setting up a roadrunner account. I called Sprint. The tech had no clue; he read through several reports and then told me that the major cable companies denied access for cell phone email (something to that effect). He suggested I get a yahoo, gmail or another service. I did open a gmail account and set it to fetch my email from roadrunner and a business account. Sucess! Now everything works fine. I couldn't get my Treo to work with my roadrunner email; I had to use a third party software. This might explain the problem.

butterbean, are you able to reply to messages?  Some are receiving e-mail ok, the issue most of us are experiencing is not being able to reply to messages.

On the outgoing server, did you by any chance make sure to turn on SMTP Auth?  I know that Roadrunner, needs secured logon for smtp.  Its an easy thing to over look, so i thought I would ask.

Agreed, sounds like a SMTP Auth error or an authentication error

With gmail fetching my email, I can reply. Everything works well. I tried everything I knew to get roadrunner to work--no success.

Would you mind providing me with the steps you used to setup the gmail account?  I have a gmail account that I rarely use and would like to use it to retrieve my RR like you did.  Thanks.
