I have been using the desktop connector to sync with my outlook mail/calendar since I got this phone. Recently recieved the upgrade popup for the desktop connector. Just as last time...it wouldnt download by clicking the link so I downloaded it from the Sprint email site. Installed and no matter what configuratio I try, it will not work. I have reset the mail client on the phone and mail sets up but when initially recieving or when refreshing, the desktop connector stops/resets everytime and throws error on the phone. Any idea of a fix? anyone? BTW, did reinstall previous version and it works perfectly as usual, but still prompts for upgrade....driving me crazy.

Using the Desktop Connector to sync email from your local outlook client is an unsupported configuration.

Unsupported Yes....but it should be and that doesnt matter, it does work, i want to keep it working. That is all I care about. I own and run a small business and the calendar is important. Im not gonna purchase Microsoft Exchange just because Microsoft and Seven have some sort of alliance.

There's no alliance. =)

It's just that since its unsupported when you try to get support for an issue they will tell you its unsupported and end it there. However, it doesnt really matter to me if its unsupported or not, I'll help you either way. But the reason it does not work in the newer version was because they did not test using the desktop connector in this way. So if new code breaks this functionality they most likely wont care.

Obviously the only way to resolve the issue is to not upgrade to the latest version. But when you select Exchange server and don't actually have an exchange server, you can see why there might be an issue.

Like I said I'll help whoever with whatever configuration. I just wanted to clarify why the problem came about in the first place. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. =)

I didnt mean to come off snotty about it. My apologies. But you know...it really should be supported. The new connector does work now after changing my Sprint mail user name....works just as great as it did before.

Excellent, I'm glad to hear you are up and running. Curiously what exactly did you change?
