I'm just using a simple POP3 account . The only thing I have in Advance Setting is Under Proxy Settings > Automatically Detect Settings.  then under Messaging I have MS Exchange

If you are a technical person, you can view the log files that get created by the application for further troubleshooting. Here you go:

1. Open the Desktop Connector app by double-clicking the icon in the system tray
2. Click Tools > Settings > Advanced Settings
3. At the bottom of the dialog box, click the checkbox labeled "Allow support to view log files".  Also ensure that the checkbox labeled "Enable DEBUG logging" is turned on.
4. Click OK twice, and then close the Desktop Connector application.

Reproduce the problem multiple times then go to your desktop connector installation directory and view the slingshot.log and the connector.log to see why its failing in detail. If you need assistance with troubleshooting the logs let me know.

good luck,

bdroad
