training.  He was telling me that Verizon IS going to take over sprint in the next 6 months.  I don't know if this is hype verizon is feeding their new hires or what.  the only info I could find on it was old news items over a year old.  Anyhow, he was saying that I would have to get another handset as they (verizon) aren't cdma and will not be able to use my instinct on their network?

any truth at all to this?  if so, how will this effect us the instinct crowd as they have their flagship phones already in place?

the mods moved my post to this forum and I think they cut off the beginning of my post:  but I was saying that a friend just got a job with Verizon and is currently going through their training.  and he had all this info on sprint and verizon and I hadn't heard anything?

that statement alone shows how false this is....no company would be able to merge and then tell all of their customers to purchase new hardware, but they could just leave the network intact and use both but then verizon would just take on major spending.....i doubt this is true but if it is verizon sucks @ss, we thought our phone was locked down all verizon handsets are locked like crazy....ill be leaving asap

yeah, i've avoided verizon.  I looked for takeover information and could only find old items.  So I don't think this is true, but I just wanted to check since people on here are way more on top of this information than I am.

Nothing was cut off the beginning of your original post, it was that way from the get-go. If it was edited by anyone, there would be an edit notation at the bottom of your post. Please be careful tossing off statements like that.

Gotta love hear-say.  I think the only thing that was even questioned back then was the landline part of Sprint and even that didn't happen.

you know, we have some real snobs on here.  I thought the purpose of this site was to provide information to questions not found elsewhere.  I heard some information (verizon takeover) that I could not find any support for on the internet.  So, given that I've learned a lot on this furm, I thought this would be the perfect place to find out if someone else knew of anything upcoming that might substantiate said verizon takeover.  And pretty much all I get is slaps in the face for posting "hear say" and "wasting peoples time."  Get over yourselves.  If you have no information, keep your digs to yourself.
