Search for mobile surfers

Great site guys and gals. Just wondering if there are any plans getting a search option for those of us that use this site via our mobile devices?

That way we don't get yelled at for duplicate posts and such... how would we know unless we read every thread out there? =) Thanks.

Hello! We're looking into the fact that the browser on our phones doesn't seem to see the hyperlinks we have embedded in posts. I'm not sure we'll be able to figure out a fix, but please know that we're giving it a try.

Elaborate on what you're seeing related to the search ... I possibly made the mistaken assumption that it was related to the other problem I'm working on. [When viewing the site from the phone's browser, it's impossible to click on any HTML links other than what's built into the site navigation. My assumption was that the since the search returned results in hyperlink fashion, you wouldn't likely be able to click on them.]

Sorry for the lack of details. I don't even see a search option under any of the levels... I've been surfing using the instinct.

On the phone, the mobile browser version has no search capabilities (not sure why, we'll add this to the list). But the standard browser does give you the search ability both from the upper right corner search box, or from the Search button next to Ringtones on the horizontal nav. So for now, it would seem that you can do searches of the forum via the phone's standard browser.

We've done some research into the issue, and apparently, it is the instinct's browser, not the site.

any new news on the mobile web hyperlinks in these forums? we seem to do a lot of linking back and forth to threads on this site and it'd be nice to be able to bounce back and forth on my phone without typing in the link... (i actually don't type in the link, i just skip until i get to a computer)

hyperlinks have worked on some of the other forums i post on via my instinct, so i'm assuming it's not instinct specific?

edit to add: forums that user entered hyperlinks have worked: www.bucknuts.com, www.lthforum.com

I just personally checked, the links work via Standard browser mode on the phone, but not Mobile. I have previously visited other SMF-backed sites that were on newer versions that us, and the same holds true ... Standard is clickable, Mobile is not.
