I followed the mod for the bell file,( not the Sprint or Telus )and simply changed the blanket (oneshot) to allow .  This didn't affect any other programs or anything at all, except that I don't have to give permission to the network every two seconds.

domswe, did you change all the blanked (oneshot) and oneshot(oneshot), to allow?

just curious as I have just done the policy hack on my bell, without losing my contact list, and everything appears to be a-okay after powered on/off.

google maps had the option to "allow always"  and so did mobile gmaps.

good luck everyone.

I did all this. Replaced the policy.txt with the one supplied. And I dont think it worked because i cant even download the bolt upgrade. Can someone tell me a way to test and see if i did the mod correctly?

K, so I've been on this site for a while, but I still can't understand from searching and reading, what is so great about this policy hack? I have no issues with apps, and that request permission to do something is only asked of me like once or twice a week.

I have never changed that, nor have I had any problems, so If it doesn't cause any issues, I would say it should be fine.

I don't know it was that, that was the issue but.................. it seemed fine until i plug the phone back into the computer and look around bitpim, when i closed bitpim my phone turned off and i turned it back on.  Guess what?!?!? I lost everything, everything went zip lol.  Lost everything phone went back to out-of-box state.  Which sucks cause I didn't back up anything.... lol I also had to redo the hack again...
