I have noticed that these forums have seen to die off in action compared to when I was on then a year ago after falling victim to Bells Instinct. So, how are people with the phone now? I'm on my 2nd replacement and I'm still getting the same problems and crashes.... Bell tells me it will be $400 to get out of my contract at this point, I just can't wait to get this over with and move on. Telus is good in my area so I think I might jump to them and get an android once I'm done with this. Even worse is the Bell store in my area, I have personally filed 2 complaints with Bell about them and my GF (Whom never complains about anything) has done it once.

I'm just tired of Bell at this point, even if they magically fix this phone by now I'm not going back to them....

How about other people, have most people managed to get away, to other phones? Other carriers? Still trudging through but found that complaining seems to do nothing....

Lol I'm here, New to the site, and a little new to the Instinct.
I've had this phone for 2 months on prepaid. I LOVE how Bell offers the Fun 20 (prepaid). Unlimited internet, pic, video and text messaging.
I've been with them for maybe half a year, and OMFG I HATE THEM!!
It's been nothing but trouble. My first cell was the Vice, but I wanted to upgrade.
So I saw a cheap phone on the classifieds and thought I picked up a deal.
URGH, F**KIN Instinct.
It constantly freezes on me, battery doesn't last very long, can't put any apps on it, nor can I download the bloody update for the media player to watch my videos!
I've called them everyday for the past week, because I can't watch my videos and whatnot. They tell me it's still being investigated with the "higher-ups". BS!
I told them if they cannot fix my phone, they will be shipping me a brand new phone at no cost. And it won't be another instinct. I was looking at the Samsung Impact. Looks pretty decent.
Also, don't go into a storefront, they don't know their heads from their asses.

Ya, there are a few of us still around... I'm ready to jump, but not in a rush..  Outside of the $10 a month web surfin' (which you CAN get) the phone is just about that, a phone.  There are no (good) apps, and the GPS/media stuff ain't worth paying for.

so when xmas season comes i'll treat myself to a new phone.  Windows7 or some sort of 4G/android will hopefully be available by then...

See, the thing about smartphones, as much as I love them, I've had myself an HTC Touch 6800, the apps really blew my mind, but I wasn't ready to spend $50+ a month for everything, well it wasn't even unlimited internet, cause no provider offers that for smartphones, and it SUCKS!
For example, my friend loved her Blackberry, she was with Telus, and her dad paid $80 a month for her, and it's rediculous. Then she got an iPhone, then her bill was up to $110 a MONTH! The day I pay $110 a month for my phone, is the day I get back with my ex.

I used to own an Instinct, but I sold it and bought a Palm Pre for $300 off contract, only a few weeks before Bell decided they would discount $15 off the data plan you choose. So I'm paying $50 instead of $35.

Wow man, you gotta pay $50 a month!?
It's rediculous how much people pay a month for nothing.
I pay $240 a YEAR, you would be paying $600 a YEAR!
So that means, in 7 months, with all that money I saved up, I could buy your Palm Pre.
I'm not much of a fan of Palms, but HTC's I couldn't resist.
How many years did you sign for?
And do you even get unlimited internet?

500MB data, its hard to use up that much.  Unlimited texts, 200 local mins.

Yes, I think you would pay that much money for a smart phone data plan. Without it, data usage charges are very high.

Ah true enough.
But what about pic and video messaging? I sometimes like to send pictures to Facebook on the go, so how much would that cost you?

If it is sent by text, i think about 50 cents or a dollar, but I can upload through the photo viewer or by email which is free, it uses the data usage.

Ya, that would be better, hmmm, Still would kinda suck if i wanna send my friend pic message.
Suck even more if i wanted to upload a video, but then again, that's what SD cards are for Tongue
But are you with Bell?
Cause I've almost had enough of them.
It's been a week to get a call back from them, and still nothing.
I told them that I couldn't download the update for the media player and it's pissing me off cause I can't watch my videos.
So I told them to either send me a new phone(Samsung Impact) or give me a massive deal.

Hack phone? How can you hack it? Bell is such a tight ass, you can barely install any apps or games. Once you do it keeps telling you to allow the network. I could only install Opera, and the only reason why I keep it on my cell is the fact that I don't have to tilt my cell sideways.
Bell has the best prepaid plan you can get, but the WORST sevice EVER!
The best thing to get for their service to really get your moneys worth is Bell's Prepaid Fun 20. Although you have to choose 30c a minute, it's pretty pricey, but why call people when you can text them? Tongue
