Hey, gang. Just wanted to let you know that a new site feature has been added... now if you hover over a thread, you get a preview of the content.

Thank god!

Now I can go through all the

"Splitting atoms with the instinct"

posts in the how-to section without having to load the page only to find the body contains

"Can it be done?"

Gets annoying.

That's very handy for new posts.

A useful enhancement to this would be if you could hover over the "new" icon when looking at the "unread posts since last visit" view and see the content of the first new post.  Lots of times I know what an older thread is about, but it would be nice to see if the new item is new info or just a "me too" type post.

I'd love a feature to stop monitoring posts.  Yes, I would like to know when someone responds to some of the threads I'm following, but the majority of "Replies to post since last visit" are "What kind of car do you drive" or some other nonsensical thread that I gave a solution in.

"Show new replies to your posts."
Its right under show new replies since last visit

Down by the reply button there is a "Notify" button.  You can turn it on or off.

j.t. - not what I'm talking about
dfootball56 - that enables / disables email notification

I want things to stop showing up under "Show new relies to your posts" I have at least 40 threads in there and at this point I only care about following maybe 2 of them.  The rest need to be marked as dead to me so I never see them again...

Still unclear?

Well that's one work around I've tried.  There should be an easier way though.  Too bad my web programming is horrendous compared to my C or I could suggest something.

haha, thanks Stormy.

Once I saw "SMF is written in the popular language PHP and uses a MySQL" I decided to fold, but that's pretty cool that this whole site is run off an open source project.  Gotta love it when someone sticks it to the man and says "F*** you, we can do it stronger, better, and oh yeah free!

I see what you're saying.  That would be kinda of a nice add on to the forum.
